Virginia Local Area Schools
The County of Amelia has
three accredited schools. The elementary school,
which was completed in the fall of 1993 is located on
North Five Forks Road. The high school is located
across the street from the new elementary school. The
middle school is located on Otterburn Road and the
school administration office are currently located on
Otterburn Road. The County shares responsibility with
Nottoway County for a vocational technical center,
which is located just outside of the County on U.S.
Route 360. Amelia County Elementary
School is home to one of the state's most modern
educational technology systems, a Local Area Network
consisting of more than 100 workstations is in place for students.
Two full-curriculum private
schools are also located within the County of Amelia.
Amelia Academy offers grades K-12 and is located on
North Five Forks Road in the village of Amelia
Courthouse. The Pilgrim Mennonite School is located
at the intersection of Genito Road and Redmore Lane.
There are also two day care centers operating in the
County - Amelia Child Care and Learning Center on
Butlers Road and AmeriKids Child Development Center
on North Five Forks Road.
