Emergency...

Safety, health and education are handled by several facilities based in the county. A volunteer fire department, consisting of five fire companies, and an emergency squad operate within the County. Amelia is served by three medical facilities.
Amelia Counties fire and rescue volunteers have also been rewarded for volunteering their time to the departments, with a reduced tax rate on one of the vehicles they drive.
